James Brass

James is an economist and Partner in York Aviation.  James joined York Aviation from its parent company York Consulting in January 2004.  James has ten years of consultancy experience working for a wide range of clients including central and regional government, regional and local development agencies, and the private sector.  His particular areas of expertise include economic appraisal and impact assessment, financial analysis, process and project evaluation, database development and quantitative analysis.

Over the past eight years James has been involved in a wide range of airport and aviation related assignments for both York Consulting and York Aviation.  He has been extensively involved in economic impact assessments, including model development, of a wide range of airports including Birmingham, Bournemouth, Blackpool, Dublin, East Midlands, Exeter, Humberside, London City, Lyon, Manchester, Newquay, and Durham Tees Valley.  James also played a leading role in our recent impact assessment for Europe’s leading airline associations of the EU’s proposal to include aviation within the EU Emissions Trading Scheme, which included analysis of the financial impact on airlines and the impact on the EU economy.
